Digital scrawlings and small paintings

During school lessons I made scrawlings with blue ink on paper. Later I started making small ink and watercolor paintings. That was how my art developed. The shapes of these scrawlings are the basic of most of my artwork, paintings and jewelry.
In 2011 I started making digital paintings, and in September I found the program Artrage. This is a fantastic program that simulates real painting in an unbelievable way. It is especially good in watercolors. It feels and looks like painting with real watercolors.

Now there are three kinds of digital programs I use:
1) Picture manipulating programs. Most of the time this is not really painting, but applying transformation operations to pictures to get something new.
I use the completely free program GIMP for making such paintings. It is comparable to Photoshop and has everything you need for picture manipulating.

2) Classical painting simulating programs. The ones I use are Corel Painter Essentials and now almost exclusively Artrage.

3) Small painting simulating programs for special operations and fast sketches
I use mypaint (it is a complete painting program, but it doesn`t have a s many features as Artrage. It is completely free).
Mypaint is a very good program with many easy to use brushes. It is fast to understand, fast to use, and the brushes are great for doing all kinds of sketches.
There are some other free programs online for download like Artweaver. The ones I tested are all surprisingly good and work well.


Some of the scrawlings in this album I will maybe use for making epoxy paintings or canvas prints from them to paint onto them with real colors. Some of them will be more finished than others. These I will use as paintings for the joint project "music and paintings".
